Theatre Coup d’Etat is casting its upcoming production of Tony Kushner’s award-winning saga, Angels in America: Millennium Approaches, directed by Justin Kirkeberg Artistic Director of Candid Theater Co.
CASTING - ALL ROLES EXCEPT PRIOR, JOE, and HANNAH

Theatre Coup d’Etat is bringing Angels in America back to the Twin Cities! Angels will require an ensemble effort, built with a high level of energy and most roles will be physically demanding. Casting is open to all age, gender and ability, and we encourage people of color to audition.
Auditions are by appointment only, to schedule an audition time please email auditions@candidtheaterco.com. Please include a headshot and resume and plan to bring one to the audition as well. Please prepare TWO contrasting monologues, preferably one dramatic and one comic.

We will provide each member with a percentage of ticket sales.

Auditions will be
May 24th &25th from 6:00-10:00PM
May 26th from 12-2PM

Callbacks will be
May 26th from 2:00-5:00 PM

Rehearsals will begin in June, and will be Monday –Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoon. Exact schedule to be determined after casting.

Rocky Horror Show has been a cult favorite for over 30 years and is now making its way to Theater On The Park where Justin will be guest directing MCTC' winter show.

The story follows Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, who find themselves lost on a cold and rainy, late November evening. Seeking a phone at a nearby castle, Brad and Janet discover a group of strange and outlandish people who are holding an Annual Transylvanian Convention. Brad and Janet are quickly engulfed into the world of Dr. Frank-N-Furter as he holds court over his band of jesters but soon the merriment takes a more sinister (and comical) turn: all of this in a madcap musical ripe with songs that we all know and love. To put this comic masterpiece on the stage, director Justin M. Kirkeberg will need seven women and seven men. Multi-cultural casting of actors of all ages.

Candid is partnering with the Saloon to produce Parallel Lives in August. Parallel Lives by Mo Gaffney (Mad TV) and Kathy Najimy (Sister Act, Veronica's Closet) featured HBO special after 8 years performing off Broadway in New York developing a smart satire about relationships, faith, how we all love. We are lucky to be working with local columnist Julie Dafydd and Artistic Director (and many time candid partner)of Unraveling Muses Katherine Preble. Part of the proceeds will help the local LGBT groups supporting the fight against the marriage referendum.

Welcome to the new Candid Theater Co. page. A huge thank you to Nick and James for all of their work on the grown up face of Candid.  From developing the new logo, finding the right colors, and suffering though all of our random pie in the sky wish lists. At the end of the day they gave us exactly what we needed, making it seem so easy. 

So a lot is happening with Candid a new webpage, our company is growing with new partnerships, and lots of great projects that we will be announcing soon. Check back often for some exciting news.
